Events
We have two approaches to events in Drupal and WordPress.
- Storing events within the site
- Out of the box we can provide an Events content type with a number of fields related to events.
- Events can be displayed in a block that can be placed in various places throughout the site. Examples include the homepage, the sidebar, etc.
- An events listing page of all upcoming events is available to see large numbers of upcoming events.
- Events can be a combination of:
- Events entered on the site only.
- Events entered in the Cornell Events Calendar and pulled into and stored in the events content type.
- This listing of events allows for curation of which events are displayed on the site.
- Events pulled from the Cornell Events Calendar will be linked to the Calendars listing, locally entered events can be linked anywhere.
- Pulling events in real time from the Cornell Events Calendar
- With this method a block can be configured to pull events and display them in a number of places on the site.
- This is a lighter weight method for events, which does not need to store additional content in the site.
- There is some customization as to the display of these events, but there is not a method to curate this content.
